Telemarketing executives are members of a marketing team of an organization who have to market the products and services of a company they work for. The main responsibility of a telemarketing executive is to tap potential customers and pitch the company?s product or service.
These executives have to generate a list of potential clients using different sources. They are responsible for calling these clients and explaining them about the product or service they are trying to sell. Once the customer is convinced and all his queries and concerns have been answered along with the price negotiations, they need to fix up an appointment for the sales executive to meet them and discuss further details and finalize the sales. Most of the time the telemarketing executives do not have to personally visit any client, they instead have to give these leads to the sales executive who closes the deal.
The telemarketing executive needs to be in constant touch with the client till he receives the product and also if the role demands ensure satisfaction later on also to maintain an ongoing relationship. They have to handle outbound telemarketing, coordinating with clients through email and mailing efforts across all sales channels. The telemarketing executive is also responsible for some inbound call handling which is mostly in response to online enquiries and other marketing activities or a response from the client to whom they pitched.
The executives have to work with the prospect database to develop potential clients into qualified leads. While making calls and through their research they need to correctly record new information in terms of company, contacts, job titles in the marketing databases, continuously validating the data, including current contacts and other details such as email addresses. They also need to regularly research as per requirements to identify new organisations and markets for the team to target the product or service.
The telemarketing executives need to have a complete knowledge of the item they are selling so that they can answer all queries of the customers to their satisfaction. They also need to know the offers that the company has and also of the happenings in the other competitors company in order to pitch his product better. The executives need to have excellent communication skills and need to be very patient while talking to prospective clients. Their inter-personal skills are of utmost importance as they are the first point of contact between the company and the client which for the benefit of the company should be a long term relationship.
