The main job of the Regional Manager, of any field or stream, is to ensure effective management of the resources available including high quality management of the staff and local volunteers and the relationships with members and Branches.
The incumbent has to work with the Heads of various departments to ensure appropriate and effective service development; delivery of service and support the company?s ideologies. A Regional manager must lead work and develop appropriate level of strategic engagement and presence at regional level. He/she must develop and manage delivery of appropriate plans for the region and take the responsibility for the annual budget for the region. He/she is also responsible for comprehensive data base of detailed mapping of appropriate resources, services and networks in respective region along with the performance agreed objectives, delivering defined outcomes, appropriate training and development. The incumbent is also responsible for the successful and appropriate, development and monitoring of local branch, support group and membership group activities. This is done primarily to maximize the application of local and national business of the company to deliver the regional plan. The regional manager must lead work on influence and service development for the region and develop appropriate level of strategic engagement and presence at regional level. He/she must promote best practice across the region, through engagement in service planning mechanisms and negotiating the use of resources to secure service developments.
Some of the other key responsibilities are:
? Ensuring effective management and involvement of local Branches in developing and delivering business plans
? Identifying and communicating service development to senior managers, staff and branch members.
? Manage all staff employed in the delivery of the regional service including monitoring the implementation of staff work programmes and carrying out regular staff appraisals and supervision meetings.
? Overall responsibility for the promotion to, development, recruitment and retention of organization
? Control the regional finances and authorizing expenditure and ensuring expenditure is within budget
The incumbent aspiring to be the Regional manager must prove his/her experience in the following areas:
? Ability to manage the delivery of projects, budgetary and management responsibility

? Ability to represent the service in the region and network effectively
? Ability to plan, organize, manage and review activities effectively
? A willingness to travel and to work outside normal office hours as the circumstances of the job may demand
? Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally at all levels
