* Keep yourself updated with latest information. Polish your knowledge through various possible means. This is going to be most helpful to you.
* Don’t just be the participant or mute spectator. Being an initiator or a concluder will boost up you chances.
* Put in vital inputs rather than fake and superficial points. Organize your thoughts and assess what you are going to speak to avoid being laughed upon.
* Put points firmly and try to get others support too.
* Be as natural as possible. Be yourself and you‘ll win half the battle.
* Don’t lose your cool during the discussion. Remain firm but very polite. Do not get provoked in case discussion becomes heated rather try to maintain a balanced tone in your discussion and analysis.
* If discussion is going off-track then steer it back to path. This will help you in gaining the maximum points.
* Keep yourself constantly vocal as Group Discussion is meant for you talk. Let your evaluator listen to you amply.
* Don’t wait for your turn to speak while discussion is going on. The best way is to interrupt politely when you want to put your points.
* If you have any doubts about the topic/subject, do not hesitate to seek the clarification. Don't start speaking until you have clearly understood and analyzed the subject.
* Stay focused and never lose your cool if anyone disagrees with you. Don't take the discussion personally.
* Keep a positive body language. Your gestures and mannerisms are going to speak a lot about your attitude.
* For the sake of mock GD, organize a discussion with your group of like-minded friends. This way you will learn from each other.
* Enhance your leadership skills. Subtly motivate other members of the team and listen to their views. Be receptive to others' opinions without being abrasive or aggressive.
* Remember that the panel is also observing you for your alertness, presence of mind, problem-solving abilities and ability to work as a team.
* Also keep a tab on the time given for discussion. Try to wrap up the discussion well within the stipulated time.
* Demonstrate your leadership quality by concluding with valuable insights.
